They consulted Turbine Heat and Power to determine the best energy solution for their gas processing facility. The successful pilot project led to purchasing the 1MW microturbine, renting 2 additional C1000S units (2MW), and 5 C65 units. The commissioning process, completed in two weeks, highlighted Capstone's rapid deployment capabilities. The first unit, installed in May 2023, demonstrated outstanding performance and fuel versatility, prompting further orders. Situated on Jamaica's beautiful Caribbean coastline, the 4-star Hilton Rose Hall resort features a Capstone C1000S microturbine in a combined heat and power (CHP) application to power its 385,000-sq-ft, 495-key facility. This project commissioned in February 2024, has already resulted in energy cost savings and increased power reliability. Capstone provided a cost-effective solution, meeting the resort's energy, heating, and cooling needs. The microturbines have also lowered their carbon footprint for the first half of the year. Louisiana Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Mining

This microturbine system utilizes on-site associated natural gas—a byproduct otherwise wasted—offering a reliable, low-maintenance, and eco-friendly energy source. The use of waste gas as free fuel led to significant operational savings and reduced emissions. Capstone’s collaboration with Prologis Mobility showcases an innovative solution to addressing the urgent infrastructure demands of electric vehicles (EVs). Facing delays in grid expansions necessary for EV charging, Capstone introduced mobile and stationary microturbine-based system for standalone EV charging. These solutions offer scalable power generation from 65KW to multiple megawatts and can also provide permanent charging power, either standalone or grid-connected, as part of a resiliency program to cover a period of demand reduction, price spikes, or grid outages.

Deployed at a Prologis facility in Torrance, California, a 180-kilowatt microturbine-based charging solution exemplifies rapid deployment for EV charging needs. Beyond immediate mobile applications, these microturbines provide resilient, cost-effective solutions for long-term energy independence, capable of operating on various fuels and ensuring minimal maintenance. Positioned as a pivotal advancement in supporting clean fuel fleets amid accelerating EV adoption, Capstone's microturbine technology underscores its commitment to sustainable energy solutions and operational flexibility across diverse sectors.

Malian Cashew Corporation

Capstone Energy+ Partner Genesis Energy

The Malian Cashew Corporation SARL (MCC) in Bamako, Mali, relies on continuous electricity for food processing. High diesel and heavy fuel oil costs, along with Mali's unreliable grid, pose challenges. In 2021, MCC entered a power purchase agreement with Genesis Energy for 600kW and chose liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for cost control, reliability, and sustainability. Given Mali's LPG imports with over 90% butane, MCC selected Capstone Energy+'s C600S microturbine, compatible with high-butane LPG. Leasing the Capstone C600S reduced capital expenditures and addressed unreliable electricity, offering scalable solutions. Transported from Los Angeles to Mali, the equipment was installed in a scalable, ventilated enclosure. Results: 80% total efficiency from cogeneration, 16 months of continuous run time, and 600kW energy produced.
