Capstone Green Energy Power Rentals

On Demand Power Rental Solutions

Capstone Green Energy power rentals deliver best in class energy solutions for a variety of applications. Our modular microturbines systems are engineered to meet and exceed the unique demands of our customers while also lowering energy costs, increasing resiliency and reducing emissions. With individual products ranging from 65 kilowatts to multiple megawatts of electric power output, our custom energy solutions offer clean and reliable power to be used for peaking power, baseload operation, standby power in the industrial, utility and commercial sectors.

Capstone rental systems allow customers to produce power on-site in parallel with the electric grid or stand-alone when no utility grid is available. For customers who do not have access to the electric utility grid, microturbines provide clean, on-site power with fewer scheduled maintenance intervals and greater fuel flexibility than competing technologies. For customers with access to the electric grid, microturbines provide an additional source of continuous on-site power generation, thereby providing additional reliability and potential cost savings compared to the local utility.

Pan American Energy (PAE)

Product: C1000S microturbine, Natural Gas

Location: Vaca Muerte, Argentina

Distributor: Turbine Heat and Power S.A.

A leading global energy company in Argentina installed a Capstone C1000S (1MW) microturbine at a remote oilfield in the Vaca Muerta Shale Play. They consulted Turbine Heat and Power to determine the best energy solution for their gas processing facility. The successful pilot project led to purchasing the 1MW microturbine, renting 2 additional C1000S units (2MW), and 5 C65 units. The commissioning process, completed in two weeks, highlighted Capstone's rapid deployment capabilities. The first unit, installed in May 2023, demonstrated outstanding performance and fuel versatility, prompting further orders. The microturbines not only significantly reduce emissions but also provide enhanced power security and operational benefits.

Louisiana Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Mining

Product: 2 C1000S microturbines, High Pressure Natural Gas

Louisiana Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Mining

Product: 2 C1000S microturbines, High Pressure Natural Gas

Location: Louisiana, U.S.

Distributor: Lone Star Power Systems

Cryptocurrency mining demands vast amounts of electricity, posing challenges amid strained utility grids and high energy costs. A remote data center in Louisiana sought a greener, cost-effective power solution for its blockchain and cryptocurrency mining operations. Partnering with Capstone's distributor, Lone Star Power Solutions, the data center installed a C1000S microturbine under a long-term rental agreement. This microturbine system utilizes on-site associated natural gas—a byproduct otherwise wasted—offering a reliable, low-maintenance, and eco-friendly energy source. The use of waste gas as free fuel led to significant operational savings and reduced emissions. Impressed by the system's reliability and environmental benefits, the customer ordered a second C1000S unit within a year. “Capstone’s products enable 100% uptime and low emissions, allowing our customers to focus on their core business,” said Doug Demaret, President of Lone Star Power Solutions.

Prologis

Product: C200S, Natural Gas

Location: Torrance, California

Distributor: Capstone Engineered Solutions Corporation

Capstone’s collaboration with Prologis Mobility showcases an innovative solution to addressing the urgent infrastructure demands of electric vehicles (EVs). Facing delays in grid expansions necessary for EV charging, Capstone introduced mobile and stationary microturbine-based system for standalone EV charging. These solutions offer scalable power generation from 65KW to multiple megawatts and can also provide permanent charging power, either standalone or grid-connected, as part of a resiliency program to cover a period of demand reduction, price spikes, or grid outages.

Deployed at a Prologis facility in Torrance, California, a 180-kilowatt microturbine-based charging solution exemplifies rapid deployment for EV charging needs. Beyond immediate mobile applications, these microturbines provide resilient, cost-effective solutions for long-term energy independence, capable of operating on various fuels and ensuring minimal maintenance. Positioned as a pivotal advancement in supporting clean fuel fleets amid accelerating EV adoption, Capstone's microturbine technology underscores its commitment to sustainable energy solutions and operational flexibility across diverse sectors.

Malian Cashew Corporation

Product: C600S microturbine, Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG)

Malian Cashew Corporation

Product: C600S microturbine, Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG)

Location: Bamako, Mali - Africa

Capstone Green Energy Partner Genesis Energy

The Malian Cashew Corporation SARL (MCC) in Bamako, Mali, relies on continuous electricity for food processing. High diesel and heavy fuel oil costs, along with Mali's unreliable grid, pose challenges. In 2021, MCC entered a power purchase agreement with Genesis Energy for 600kW and chose liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) for cost control, reliability, and sustainability. Given Mali's LPG imports with over 90% butane, MCC selected Capstone Green Energy's C600S microturbine, compatible with high-butane LPG. Leasing the Capstone C600S reduced capital expenditures and addressed unreliable electricity, offering scalable solutions. Transported from Los Angeles to Mali, the equipment was installed in a scalable, ventilated enclosure. Results: 80% total efficiency from cogeneration, 16 months of continuous run time, and 600kW energy produced.
